LEvonorgestrel
Ulipristal - Ella one
Copper intrauterine device
Time for levonorgestrel to be effective
72 hours
Time for Ulipristal Ella one to be effective
120 hours - 5 days
Time for copper coil to be effective
5 days within 5 days of ovulation
Dose of levonestrel
1.5mg single does
3 mg >70kg or >26 BMI
COCP missed one pill
Take missed pill asap
No extra protection necessary
COCP missed more than 1 pill
Take most recent pill ASAP
Additional contraception needed until taken pill regularly for 1 week.
Id day 1-7 =emergency contraception
If day 8-14 = no emergency contracpotion
If day 15-21 = skip pill free period
POP missed pill definition
> 3 hours for traditional
12 hours for desogestrel
POP missed pill
Take asap with next pill at usual time
Use extra contraception for next 48 hours
Emergency contraception required if sex since missed pill or within 48 hours of restarting

1 Mature and intelligent enough to understand treatment
2 Can’t be persuaded to discuss with parents
3 Likely to have intercourse regardless
4 Physical or mental health is likely to suffer without treatment
5 Treatment is in their best interests
