Contol In Plants Flashcards
Why do plants produce hormones?
They produce hormones to coordinate and control growth
Give an example of a plant hormone and what it does.
Auxin control photosynthesis and gravitropism (geotropism)
What are the responses of plant roots and shoots to light, gravity and moisture are result of?
Unequal distribution of hormones, causing unequal growth rates
Give example of hormones given to pants (by humans).
Plant growth hormones are used in agriculture
horticulture is used as a weed killer and as rooting hormones
What are plants sensitive to?
Light, moisture and gravity:
Their shoots grow towards light and against the force of gravity
Their roots grow towards moisture and in the direction of the force of gravity
