Discourse Analysis
Discourse analysis, or discourse studies, is an approach to the analysis of written, vocal, or sign language use, or any significant semiotic event.
Phonology
The science of speech sounds including especially the history and theory of sound changes in a language or in two or more related languages.

Name of people, place and things
Concrete Nouns
Refers to things that we see/ feel
Abstract Nouns
Refers to things that do not exist physically
Adjectives
Define or modify ( provide additional information about nouns and can be positioned - before )
Lexical Verbs
Tell us what is happening/ what the
‘Action’ is ( run) - they also donate process
Auxiliary & Model Verbs
Go before the main verb in a sentence. They give additional information about the main bern and effect on sentence - auxiliary - eg; have, do, be.
They are 9 model auxiliary verbs; can, coild, will, would
Adverbs
Describe and modify verbs, however, they can also describe adjectives and other adverbs.
