What is delusion
False personal beliefs not consistent with a person’s intelligence or cultural background in spite of obvious proof that it is false and/or irrational (cannot be corrected by logic or reasons).
What is systematized delusion
When they form a coherent system and appear to be logical.
e.g. paranoid delusion.
What is unsystematized delusion
When a group of delusions are not related to each other or in a haphazard relation.
What is another category of delusion ?

What is paranoid delusion?
it is an intense and strongly defended irrational suspicious belief.
Delusion of grandeur
False belief that one is very powerful and important person

False belief that one is chased by other
Delusion of reference
False belief that the behavior of other refers to one self (people in street, radio, newspaper, are referring to him)
Erotic delusion
False belief that there is a love story between oneself and famous person
Delusion of jealousy
Conviction that the spouse has some definite relation with someone else
Delusion of infidelity
False belief derive from pathological jealousy that one lover is unfaithful (it is an extreme of jealousy delusion)
Litigious delusion
Patient writes complain and sends them to responsible person

- Delision of control
- false belief that one is being controlled by others or agencies
Types of depressive delusions
1- delusion of self blame, guilt, or sins
2- delusion of poverty
3 nihilistic delusion
Delusion of self blame guilt or sins
In which that patient that he is wicked full of sins and unfit to live with other people (unworthy)
Delusion of poverty
False belief that he lost everything in life
Nihilistic delusion
False belief that a part of his body doesn’t exist or he doesn’t exist (dead)
Hypochondriacal delusion
Patient has false belief that he has physical disease like cancer stomach that is not based on real organic pathology
Obsessive of thoughts
An obsession is a feeling of compulsion to repeat some mental or physical act, which the patient resists it, the patient recognized that it is meaningless and the patient struggles it.
What is the difference between delusion and obsession
Thedifferencebetweendelusionand obsession is that the latter is more absurd and the patient is aware ‘of the absurdity
and resists it most of the time , while the patient fights for his delusion.
Preoccupation
Centering of thought content around a particular idea associated with strong affective tone
Suicidal ideation
It is the recurrent idea affecting the individual to put and end by himself to his own life
