Terah

The Father of Abram (Gen 11:26) and an idolater (Joshua 24).
Hagar
– [Genesis 16]
The maidservant of Sarai who bore Ishmael to Abraham (he did not wait on God). Abraham sent her and her son away and God comforts her. Paul refers to her in Galatians 4:22-31.
Laban
– [Genesis 24:29]
Son of Bethuel, the brother of Rebekah, Isaac’s wife, and father of Leah and Rachel (Gen 24). Substitutes Leah for Rachel as a wife to Jacob and divides cattle with him. He pursues Jacob and makes a covenant with him (Gen 31).
Zipporah
– [Exodus 2, 4]
The wife of Moses. She circumcised her son.
Deborah –
[Judges 4, 5]
Prophetess and judge of Israel who helped to deliver her people from Jabin and Sisera. Barak, Son of Abinoam, and Deborah defeated Sisera at the Battle of Kishon. Composed a song of triumph (Judges 5).
Ruth
– [Book of Ruth]
Moabite daughter-in-law of Naomi and later wife of Boaz. She was the great grandmother of David and was an ancestor of Christ.
Joshua
– [Deuteronomy 13; Book of Joshua]
The successor of Moses, leader of Israel (Num 27, Joshua 1). Battles Amalek (Ex 17). Sent as spy into Canaan and gives a favorable report (Num 13). Sends spies to Jericho (Joshua 2). Leads Israel across Jordan and sets up memorial stones (Joshua 3-4). Circumcises the people and conquers Jericho (Joshua 5). Punishes Achan for his sin (Joshua 7), and Conquers Canaan (Joshua 8-12). Divides the land (Joshua 13-19).
Achan (Achar)
– [Joshua 7]
He stole the plunder from the Assyrians and caused the Israelites to lose a battle. God punished Israel and all of Achan’s possessions and family was destroyed.
Caleb
– [Num 13, Joshua 14 & 15]
One of the twelve spies whom Moses sent to spy out The Promised land and gave a good report. Only him and Joshua stood against the other ten and declared that Israel should take the land. The place was known as Kadesh Barnea. Inherits Hebron and conquers his territory with Othniel’s (his nephew) help.
Gideon
– [Judges 6-8]
Called by an angel. The great judge of Israel who delivered his people from Midian; he was given the name Jerubbaal. Takes revenge on Succoth and Penuel (Judges 8). Refuses kingship, makes and ephod. Fathers 71 sons.
Samuel
– [1 Samuel]
Born in answer to prayer and dedicated to God (1 Samuel 1). Prophet and last judge of Israel. He anointed Saul and later David as king.
Bathsheba
– [2 Samuel 11]
Wife of Urriah the Hittite, who King David took as his own. She became pregnant and King David had Urriah killed in Battle. David wrote Psalm 51 as a result. Because of David’s sin the child dies. Then she gives birth to Solomon. Later she secures the throne for Solomon.
Icabod
– [1 Samuel 4]
Son of Phineas. The grandson of Eli.
David
– [1 Samuel 16 – 2 Samuel 2:11]
The great statesman general, and king of Israel: He united the divided tribes of Israel and made many preparations for the temple, which his son Solomon would complete. He was an ancestor of Christ.
