A
- researcher puts forward 1 or more general hypotheses
- researcher identified categories of theoretical relelavance into which gathered data will be placed
- researcher needs to decide which sources of information to use as the sample
- good to have 2 or more judges or coders to assign the information into categories
- results of contet analysis need to be related to the hypothesis the motivated the study

Q
Strengths of content analysis
A
- ease of application- content analysis is easy to perform
- inexpensive research method
- can be used for different experiments
4
Q
Weaknesses of content analysis
A
- data may come from a very unrepresentative sample
- hard to generalise
- replication harder
