- Consumer Protection is the laws and other form of government protection that aim to protect consumers from unconscionable acts, such as scams or rip-off
- State and federal governments have passed laws that are designed to protect consumers in the marketplace
Why do we need Consumer Protection?
- So that consumers are treated justly and honestly
- So your items are of good quality
- So you do not receive misleading information
- So you maintain safety so it doesn’t harm you

The right to use a product that will not cause you harm.

The right to receive accurate Information about a product including:
- Price
- Labelling
- Where the product was manufactured

Consumers have the right to choose where they want to buy a product or service from

Consumers have every right to know the full price, and that it’s always displayed.

Consumers have the right to have a refund or exchange if they change their mind, especially if faulty.
