In 1707, William and Mary’s successor, Queen Anne, had no surviving children. This created uncertainty for the monarchy so The Act of Union (aka The Treaty of Scotland) was agreed. This treaty created Great Britain.

Bonnie Prince Charlie (real name Chales Edward Stuart) was the grandson of James II. He attempted to take control of Scotland and put a Stuart king back on the thone, but he was defeated.

A

The Reform Act of 1832 greatly increased the number of people who could vote. It also allocated more parliamentary seats to towns and cities with larger populations. Voting rights were still based on property ownership, so many could not vote.
