Q

Loose (areolar)

A

Most abundant, semi solid matrix of collagen and elastin fibres containing fibroblasts, adipocytes, mast cells and macrophages; connects and supports other tissues e.g. under skin, between muscles.

Q

Two types of fat (adipose tissue)

A

There are two types
White (fat)> 20-25% BMI in healthy adult, acts as insulator and energy store
Brown> found in new-born, highly vascularised- temp regulation

Reticular

A

found in lymph nodes and lymphatic organs, matrix captains reticule fibbers, cells present are reticular cells and white blood cells

Q

Two types of dense connective tissue

A

Fibrose and Elastic.
Fibrous tissue ;
- collagen fibres tightly packed.
- fibroblasts sit between cells.
E.g. tendons, ligaments, periosteum Elastic tissue; -elastin secreted by fibroblast cells
- fibroblasts sit between cells. -tissue has high degree of recoil
-found in organs where shape change is common e.g. blood vessels, lungs

Cell types ion bone tissues

A

Osteoblasts- letdown new bone matrix
>Osteoclasts- remove bone matrix
