Words that are used to connect words, phrases, or clauses within a sentence.
CONJUNCTIONS
Three main types of conjunction:
ᝰ.ᐟ COORDINATING
ᝰ.ᐟ SUBORDINATING
ᝰ.ᐟ CORRELATING
Type of conjunction that joins two independent clauses.
This is where the conjunction “FANBOYS” are used.
COORDINATING
F (for)
A (and)
N (nor)
B (but)
O (or)
Y (yet)
S (so)
Type of conjunction that joins an independent clause and a dependent clause.
SUBORDINATING
e.g.: because, although, however, even so
Conjunctions that are pairs of words that work together to link two equal elements in a sentence.
CORRELATIVE
e.g.:
either/or
neither/nor
both/and
not only/but also
whether/or
as/as
(basta pag dalawa yung conjunction sa sentence, automatic correlative)
