- britain didnt have conscription prior to the war and therefore had to use propaganda to persuade men to enlist in the army and justify the war to the civilians.

- Britain justified conscription by exempting specific people and conscioustess objectors, whilst Germany used P to convince soldeirs to join the army and soften attitudes towards conscription.
