Q

What is judging?

What is a judgement?

A

A judgement is when you make an identity out of someone’s behavior. You place a verbal and mental label on top of a human being, condemning the entire person.

-When you make an identity out of someone’s behavior.
Ie. one of your closest friends lied to u. You call that person a liar. When people ask about how your friend is doing, u respond “ he’s a liar”.

“You are crazy”- JUDGEMENT
-when u say “ you are” u are condemning the whole person

Your behavior during these situations is crazy- is just the way it is, not a judgement.
U r not condemning or labeling the whole person.

  • You assign a verbal and mental label on your friend as a “liar”. When they maybe just lied that one time. You don’t even just place the label on the act. U place it on the entire person.
  • You condemned the entire person.

It’s more honest and appropriate to say, “ he lied to me once before”

Q

What are the repurcussions of judging someone/ assigning a verbal and mental label on the entire person ?

A

You REDUCE the person to that label and yourself to a slave.

When you place a label on someone, You no longer see the person, u see the label. It affects how u RELATE to the person. U can’t relate freely when your around them.
You say “ he’s a liar”

The label you placed on them CONTROLS your behavior towards them.

Your become CONSTRAINED by your own judgements.

Q

Why shouldn’t we cast a judgement on severe unconsciousness?

A

That person is suffering their own consequences.
Sometimes intense suffering destroys the ego. It’s medicine.

Forgive them for they know not what they do
