Q

if SS increase more than expected after dsosage increase

A
  • the processes removing the drug from the body have become saturated
  • meaning that they arent functioning properly and thus metabolism, in this sense elimination is affected

Q

if SS increases less than expected after a dose increase

A
  • saturation of protein binding site - VA and disopyramide (meaning these drugs are unbound and free and are able to siffuse into tissues and after they get eliminated quickly-
  • carbamazepine which is an autoinducer and it is responsible for its own metabolism
