Body Awareness
-understand how one’s body moves, the mechanics of motion, and ones INDIVIDUAL abilities. Having this awareness is a component of improved coordination.
As they act in more physical activities, they will become more aware of body.
Space awareness
understanding of physical environment which surrounds you- distances, levels, and how other people and other objects move in relation to you. Young children tend to not know space awareness. Running too far away to catch a ball or crash into someone else.

“movement exploration.” Idea of going out and participating in physical activities and exploring.
Locomotor
just means movements which result in a change of location
Examples of Locomotor movements
running, skipping, jumping.
Anything that makes you change in location or position
Non-locomotor movements
movements or balancing exercises that DO NOT cause the participant to move from one place to another.
Ring exercises (holding body up on rings) balancing, and axial movements (rotating)
Object manipulation skills
skills that involve precise movements necessary to effectively catch, throw or swing bat, club, or stick.
These skills sometimes combine both fine and gross motor movements.
fine- writing with a pen. small and detailed
gross- throw a ball, big swing, punching a punching bag
lots of activities combine both fine and gross. throwing a ball, releasing it, causing it to spin.
