Great Compromise

A

Side 1: Virginia Plan, which was favored by the larger states. This stated that each state had a different number of representatives based on the population.

Side 2: New Jersey Plan, which was favored by smaller states. This stated that the number of representatives would be the same for all states.

Final Compromise: Roger Sherman proposed a two-house legislature with senate (equal votes), and House of Representatives (1 representative for every 30,000 people).

Three-Fifths Compromise

A

Side 1: Against slaves - Only wanted to consider the free people of the population.

Side 2: For slaves - Wanted to include slaves in the population count.

Final Compromise: All slaves are 3/5 of a white person.

A

Side 1: Federalists wanted a stronger central government and a new constitution.

Side 2: Anti-Federalists wanted stronger state governments.
