Componets of fitness Flashcards
5 health related components of fitness
cardio respiratory endurance muscular strength muscular endurance flexibility body composition
Skill related components of fitness
Power agility coordination balance reaction time speed
what is aerobic training
is excessive that refers to excerise that is dependant on oxygen utilisation by the body to enable muscular work
difference between aerobic and anaerobic training
Aerobic training is training that is dependant on use of oxygen to enable muscular work, used for sport of longer duration. 60-80% zone
Anaerobic training is training that relies on stored energy in the body with the absence of oxygen, this relates to any short and intense sports/ or sessions . eg sprinters
immediate physiological response to training
Heart rate - contractions by heart in set time
Ventilation Rate - number of inhalations or breaths in set time
Stroke volume - amount of blood pumped by one contraction on heart
Cardiac Output - the rate of blood pumping by the heart in a period of time.
Lactate Levels - product made by insufficient oxygen available to produce aerobic energy.
FITT principle
frequency - aerobic 4-5 times, anaerobic 2-3 times
Intensity - aerobic = 70-85% max heart rate, anaerobic = 80-100% max
Time - Anaerobic training anything under 20/30, aerobic anything over.
Type - aerobic = marathons, tris, require cardio respiratory endurance
