It is a general state of health and well-being, and more specifically, the ability to perform aspects of sports, occupations, and daily activities. (Frederic, 2017)
Physical Fitness
It involves exercise activities that you do in order to try to improve your physical health and stay healthy, particularly in the categories of cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, muscular endurance and body composition and waist circumference (Corbin, Pangrazi & Franks, 2000).
HEALTH-RELATED FITNESS
The ability of the heart, lungs, and blood vessels to supply oxygen to the cells to meet the demands of prolonged physical activity and is also referred to as aerobic exercise.
Cardiorespiratory Endurance
It is a measure that uses your height and weight to work out if your weight is healthy.
Body Mass Index
A measurement taken around the abdomen at the level of the umbilicus.
Waist Circumference
The maximal force that can be generated by a specific muscle or group of muscles.
Muscular Strength
The ability of a muscle or muscle group to sustain repeated contractions (perform work) overtime to fatigue
Muscular Endurance
The ability of a joint to move through its normal, full range of motion—is important for general fitness and wellness.
Flexibility
It involves skills that will enhance one’s performance in athletic or sports events.
Skill-related Fitness
This is the ability to change body position and direction quickly and efficiently
Agility
This is the ability to maintain the body in equilibrium.
Balance
The ability to reach or respond quickly to what you hear, see, or feel.
Reaction Time
This refers to a person’s ability to move fast. This combined with strength will provide power and force. This is a skill-related component of physical
fitness that relates to the ability to perform a movement.
Speed
This is the ability to move the body parts swiftly while applying the maximum force of the muscles. It is a combination of speed and strength.
Power
The ability to use the senses together with body parts during movement
