What steps do you take as soon as you suspect intravascular injection?
A
- Stop the procedure
- Gently massage the area
- Apply a warm compress to the area
- Give the client Aspirin
- Inject hyaluronidase and repeat hourly is symptoms do not ease
- Refer to specialist or emergency care if required.

How do you treat an area that you suspect is infected (e.g. warm and tender skin)?
A
Judgement is applied; if severe, inject hyaluronidase and surgical intervention or prescribe (via your prescriber) antibiotics
