What is CRPS?
A
A chronic neuropathic pain that follows soft-tissue or bone injury (type I) or nerve injury (type II) and lasts longer and is more severe than expected for the original tissue damage.

When does Stage 1 CRPS develop?
A
Most commonly after crush injuries, especially in a lower limb.

What is the pathogenesis of CRPS?
A
Peripheral nociceptor and central sensitization and release of neuropeptides help maintain pain and inflammation

What are some signs and symptoms of CRPS?
A
Pain has no pattern; Burning or aching pain Worsen with changes in environment or emotional stress. Allodynia and hyperalgesia Limit use of extremities because of pain
