–Units have 5 minutes to respond or will be replaced
–OES is generally not considered, but can occasionally based off draw down levels

Planned Need travel consideration
EOM 403.04
–Effort should be made to avoid travel between 2200 and 0500, but should not preclude deployment response necessary to accomplish critical suppression objectives or critical FF or public safety issues.
–Duty Chief will need to approve travel during these hours
–For a reporting time for the next op period and a response time greater than four hours, consider a rendezvous time after 0800
–No driver will drive more than 10 hours (behind the wheel) within any duty day
Personnel considerations for Strike Teams
EOM 403.00–Mutual Aid and Auto AidResponse Criteria
–Captains must ensure a minimum of 3 personnel
–4 personnel are highly encouraged and are reimbursable on CFAA incidents.
–Change of personnel after a dispatch is not acceptable
–Personnel assigned to mutual aid should plan on a minimum 5 days
–Personnel assigned to a Strike Team or Task Force may be committed for up to 14 days,
plus 2 travel days, without relief

Company Officers have the discretion to use sound judgment and refuse Mutual or Automatic Aid requests when deemed to be in the best interest of their agency, but this must be followed up with notification to their Battalion Chief/Duty Chief

–Communicate with crew: incident objectives, assignment, safety information and hazards, comm plan, travel plan, weather forecast, expected fire behavior
–Communicate the following with the STEN: position, progress, needs, hazards, field observations, coordination with adjacent resources
–Complete an ICS 214 for each operational period

–Strike Team are to remain in the immediate vicinity of each other at all times
Out-of-Service

–can be out of service due to mechanical breakdown or during rest periods
–personnel who are off shift remain on duty and are subject to their Department’s rules and regulations as well as the North Zone Strike Team Code of Conduct
