Planned Need travel consideration

EOM 403.04

A

–Effort should be made to avoid travel between 2200 and 0500, but should not preclude deployment response necessary to accomplish critical suppression objectives or critical FF or public safety issues.
–Duty Chief will need to approve travel during these hours
–For a reporting time for the next op period and a response time greater than four hours, consider a rendezvous time after 0800
–No driver will drive more than 10 hours (behind the wheel) within any duty day

Personnel considerations for Strike Teams

–Captains must ensure a minimum of 3 personnel
–4 personnel are highly encouraged and are reimbursable on CFAA incidents.
–Change of personnel after a dispatch is not acceptable
–Personnel assigned to mutual aid should plan on a minimum 5 days
–Personnel assigned to a Strike Team or Task Force may be committed for up to 14 days,
plus 2 travel days, without relief
