Describe the cockpit indications of an incoming cabin or ground
call.
- A blue CABIN CALL or GND CALL light on the overhead panel
- Accompanied by a chime.
Describe the operation of the ACP’s (Audio Control Panels)
- Microphone Selector switches/lights
Push –
- The selected transmitter light illuminates.
- The light for any previously selected transmitter extinguishes.
- Selects the respective transmitter (radio or intercommunications)
for transmission from this crew station (only one switch can be selected at a time for each crew station) - Selects the receiver audio on, if not already manually selected.
- Receiver controls
Push – - Turns the respective receiver ON / OFF at any volume setting.
Rotate –
- Varies the respective receiver volume
- Boom/Oxygen (BOOM/OXY) switch
The BOOM position selects the pilot headset microphone
The OXY position selects the oxygen mask microphone
- FLIGHT / CABIN (FLT/CABIN) switch(If installed)
The FLT position selects the flight interphone system
The CABIN position selects the cabin interphone system
Understand the operation of the CABIN CALL and GND CALL
switches / lights on the overhead pilot call panel.
CABIN CALL switches / lights
- Illuminated – indicates a flight attendant call
- Resets when the call is answered or cancelled
- FWD, MID, and AFT also reset when the light is pushed
- Push – calls selected station(s)
- FWD, MID or AFT calls the selected station.
- ALERT calls all stations.
Ground Call (GND CALL) switch / light
- Illuminated – indicates a call from ground personnel.
- Extinguishes after 30 seconds
- Push – calls ground personnel as long as the switch is pushed.
Describe how to activate / deactivate the oxygen mask
microphone
- Place the BOOM/ OXY switch to OXY to activate the oxygen
mask microphone - Place the BOOM/ OXY switch to BOOM to de-activate the
oxygen mask microphone and activate the pilot headset
microphone
Recall which microphones can be used for interphone/PA
communications to the cabin.
- Handset
- Pilot headset
- Oxygen mask
- Hand microphone
Recall that on the 767 ER aircraft, the FLT INT switch on the overhead panel must be selected (Illuminated Blue) to communicate with the flight attendants.
Flight Interphone (FLT INT) switch / light
- Push – interconnects flight and cabin interphone systems.
- Illuminated – flight and cabin interphone systems are connected.
- Push again – returns to normal operation – light is extinguished.
Note:
- An additional (Right) ADF and receiver audio control was
added on the 767 ER. - The PTT switch was moved up and replaced the FLT / CABIN
switch - With the absence of a FLT / CABIN switch, ACP communication via the cabin interphone system must be made using the FLT INT switch on the overhead pilot call panel.
Understand the operation of the switches on the flight deck aft aisle stand handset.
Cabin Call switches (FWD, MID AFT)
- Push – calls the respective station.
RESET switch - Push – cancels a call and resets the handset for subsequent
calls. (Same as stowing the handset).
PA Call switch - Push – selects the PA system for subsequent announcement.
PASSENGER ADDRESS PUSH TO TALK switch - Push and hold – keys PA system for announcement.
ALERT Call switch - Push – calls all flight attendant stations.
