complex sentence
A complex sentence is one, which consists of two or
more coordinate clauses, joined by a
coordinating conjunction
subject
A subject is a person or thing that does
an action.
verb
Verb describes the action.
object
Object is the person or thing that receives the
action.
direct object
A direct
object answers the question ‘what?’.
indirect object
An indirect object answers the questions, such as
“to whom” and “for whom”.
active voice
Sentences, where the subject does an action, are
known to be in active voice
passive voice
Sentences, in which the subject receives an action,
are known to be in passive voice
