Types of communication models
Transmission, Interaction and Transaction Model of communication
What is the transmission model?
Describes communication as one way process in which a sender transmits a message to a receiver
What is the Shanon and weaver model of communication called
It was called the mathematical theory of communication
Define sender
The person who wishes to communicate the message
Define encoder and give examples
The way the message is changed into signals by the sender ex; language when speaking and grammar when writing
Define decoder
The receiver has to decode the message in order to understand it
Define Receiver
The recipient of the message from the sender
Define Channel and give examples
The medium used to send the message ex; email or telephone
Define Noise
The channel that can be interrupted by external noise
What is feedback?
The receiver asks for clarifications from the sender in order to make sure that the message was well received.
What is Interaction model of communication and what does it include?
Generate meaning by sending messages and receiving feedback within physical and psychological contexts it includes physical and psychological context
What is physical context?
It includes environmental factors in communication factors ex; temperature and size of a space.
What is psychological context?
It includes mental and emotional factors in a communication encounter ex; stress or anxiety.
What is Transaction model of communication
A process in which communicators generate social realities within social or cultural contexts
In which situations do you communicate as a designer
You communicate with your client, target audience of your client or production partners
