What is Downward communication?
Communication flows from managers and supervisors to subordinates in order to transmit information relating to work

Communication flows from members of staff at a lower level to managers and supervisors in relation to concerns, output, co-workers or suggestions

Communication flows from persons at one level to others at the same level
What is diagonal communication?
Communication flows from persons at a lower level in one department to persons at a higher level in another department.

The grapevine is used to gossip, hearsay and propagate rumors and also to convey useful information
