What are the key steps when preparing for a negotiation
Claim notification - Heads of claim are notified to the parties involved and what claims are being sought
Internal research and prep - Undertake research and planning. Parameters of you negotiation limits are set
Organisation of meeting - Time and venue
What happens during a negotiation meeting
- Both parties should be allowed to discuss there position on the claim items
- All parties should look to maintain professionalism
- Meeting should take place in a calm setting
- Both parties should honor the agreements met
- Once agreed should be put in writing

Bulford - Chimney store using the forecourts for waste and van.
Was thick with me on the phone and said some improper stuff.
Met with him on site and had an honest discussion and managed to rectify the issue.
