What are different ways you can communicate with clients?
Verbal communication (call), written communication (email or letter) and visual communication (graphs)
What are barriers to effective communication?
-Prejudice/bias
-Jargon/technical language
-emotional/cultural barriers
-Timing of communication
-Physical barriers i.e arms folded.
Explain how you establish a strategy for negotiations?
Communicate with client before starting negotiations in order to achieve strategy. Use anchoring and be able to make strategic concessions.
What is anchoring in relation to negotiation?
This is were you start with a reasonable but high bid (if on LL side) in order to set tone and create room for negotiations.
Tell me about how you conduct negotiations?
-Communicate with client in order to obtain their objectives for instruction.
-Implement negotiation strategy.
-Start negotiations, making your arguements clear and concise with the ability to be reasonable throughout.
-Keep calm and avoid personal attacks against otherside (rule 4).
-Summarise final agreement and keep in contact with client throughout.
