Nature of Communication
Communication is a process.
It takes place when two or more people exchange ideas either through written or spoken words (verbal) or actions (nonverbal). Both verbal and nonverbal can be used at the same time.
Process of Communication
Sender produce idea > sender encodes the idea or make it into words > sender transmit the idea > the receiver gets the idea > receiver encodes the idea > receiver provides feedback
5 Function of Communication
- Regulation / Control - Communication function to control behavior.
- Social Interaction - allows people to interact with each other
- Motivation - Communication to Persuade or Encourage
- Emotional Expression - Communication where people express their feelings
- Information - Communication intend to give or take information
