What is a ray of light?
A narrow beam, a column of light (as from a beacon)
What is reflection?
Light reflecting back off a surface
What is refraction?
Light bending as it passes through a lense
How are sound waves and light waves different?
Sounds wave longitudinal, light waves transverse
How does the length of the wavelength effect frequency?
Longer wavelength = less frequent
What do the following words mean? Transparent, translucent, opaque.
Transparent: Allowing light to pass through so that objects behind can be distinctly seen.
Translucent: Allowing light, but not detailed shapes, to pass through; semi-transparent.
Opaque: Not able to be seen through; not transparent
What are the cells called in the retina that absorb colour?
Rod and cone
