What are we looking for in a nail diagnosis
A
Nails are rapidly dividing cell and generally we see problems here when we are not digesting protein well:
Brittle/easily split: low stomach acid; mineral deficiency
vertical lines /ridges: malabsorption of nutrients (eg- vits, mins, efa’s), the deeper the ridges the worse this is
white spots: Zinc or Vitamin A deficiency
spoon shaped nails: zinc or iron deficiency
pale (on sight or after pressing down a slow repulsion: anaemia
Horizontal Lines: a strong illness or infection at the time of nail growth
