Common Childhood conditions Flashcards

1
Q

Describe the development of chicken pox.

A

11-21 days after exposure to the virus symptoms will begin to develop.
This begins with spots normally on the trunk and face with small red lumps that rapidly develop into blisters.
These blisters then burst and form crusted spots.
Once all the crusted spots have formed the person is no longer contagious.
