To provide general expectations for company operations at a commercial “big box” structure fire
For the purpose of 3.2.2.3 a big box is defined as
A building similar to structures like target, Wal-Mart, Publix, Lowes, or home depot

A first alarm for commercial structure fire is
4 Engines, 1 Ladder, 1 Chief officer, 1 medic unit, 1 EMS DO
If there is any indication of fire what is important
A second alarm be called sooner than later

1st Due responsibilities

-Investigate
-Code 11
-Consider additional alarms
-Locate main body of fire
-Supply FDC if in the vicinity
-Initiate fire attack if feasible

2nd Due responsibilities

-Stage on Charlie side (if possible) until report is given on fire location by 1st due
-Initiate fire attack from closest location
-Search immediate area
-Call for needed resources
-Engineer to establish continuous water supply if hydrant proximity is close

3rd Due responsibilities (Engine)

-Establish continuous water supply for fire attack apparatus
-Supply FDC if attack apparatus has it’s own water supply
-2nd attack or backup line

1st Due rescue
-Evacuation of adjacent units
-Focused area search

4th Due (Truck)
-Anticipate need for elevated master stream
-Position truck for assessment of roof conditions
-Prepare for roof operations if needed

-RIT/RIC
-360 within reason and secure utilities
-Deploy ladders for secondary means of
egress
-Fill unmet tactical priorities
