low: farce, slapstick comedy. physical acts like slipping on a banana peel. exaggerated, jokes. VULGAR behaviour and words, stereotypes.

high: verbal wit, puns, double meanings. SOPHISTICATED. satire, social conventions, society as a whole. verbal
