  1. Know what you are going to say before you transmit
  2. Listen out before transmitting.
  3. Keep your voice at a normal conversation speed or slower.
  4. Keep your voice at a normal pitch
  5. Keep the microphone close to your lips

Lost comms

A
  1. Conduct voice radio check on primary circuit up to 3 times
  2. Conduct voice radio check on secondary circuit up to 3 times
  3. Return to primary circuit, wait 15 minutes and repeat steps 1 and 2
  4. If comms are re-established on secondary freq, a new secondary must be established
  5. If still unsuccessful, open watch with MACS on most appropriate freq
  6. Phone patch or request MACS to call pipeline and advise them their services are no longer required.
