What does ROYGBIV stand for?
R= red O= orange Y= yellow G= green B= blue I= indigo V= violet
What is white light made from?
A mixture of colours.
What is the proper name for rainbow?
A spectrum.
What does dispersed mean?
Split up.
What is does frequency of light mean?
The number of waves.k
What is the highest and lowest frequency colour?
Highest= violet Lowest= red
What do filters do to light?
They absorb all colours except for their colour.
What do white objects do?
They reflect all objects.
What do black objects do?
They absorb all colours.
What do any coloured objects from ROYGBIV do?
They reflect only their colour and absorb the rest.
What would happen is there was white light trying to get through a blue filter followed by a red filter?
Blue light will only reflect off of the blue filter and absorbs the rest, however the red filter comes after it will only reflect red light but there is no red light so the rest of the light is absorbed which leaves us with a black colour.
