Color Vision 2 Flashcards
This color system is used to accurately determine what color blue it is.
Munsell color system
What are the 3 attributes used in the munsell color system?
- Hue
- Chroma
- Value
Hue in the musell color system is related to what? Where is it on the diagram?
wavelength
- goes around in circle
Chroma in the munsell color system is related to what? Where is it on the diagram? Range?
- Colorimetric purity/Saturation
- A radius from the center
- 1 to 14, (14 is highest purity)
Value in the munsell color system is related to what? Where is it on the diagram? Range?
- brigthness/ reflectance
- runs along vertically
- 0 to 10 (10 is most bright)
This system provides parameters based on spectral power distribution of light from a colored object and sensitivity curves measured for human eye
CIE color system
The CIE color system is based on what?
the trichromatic theory of color vision (R, G, B)
- based on amounts of 3 primaries
The CIE diagram is looking at hue and saturation, not ______?
luminance
This is the monochromatic hues that lie along the perimeter of the CIE curve. Called pure due to maximum saturation.
Spectral Hue
This is the arch or location of points on a chromaticity diagram that represent color stimuli across the entire visible spectrum.
Spectral Locus
What side of the CIE diagram have the maximum saturation?
Arc/left side
This part of the CIE diagram is a straight line, cannot be produced with monochromatic light, and is connected from 380nm to 700nm
Purple Lines
This is the extent to which a color stimulus differs from white or its dominant wavelength, as determined by its location between them on a chromaticity diagram.
Excitation Purity - looking at how saturated or desaturated that color is
This is a colelction of points on the chromaticity diagram representing blackbody radiation of various temperatures.
Planckian locus
What are the (x,y) coordinates for equal energy white? What is this halfway between?
- 33,0.33
- halfway between illuminant B and C
