- Every 1 to 2 years after a patient has been living with the disease for 8 years
- Every 1 to 2 years after living with the disease for 15 years
- No surveillance
What is Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography used for?
Examine the biliary system via insertion thru the ampulla of vater. Can retrieve stones from bile ducts and examine integrity.
Main things that an Ultrasonic Endoscopy is used for.
- Tumor identification and staging.
- finding the depth of lesion or ulcers
What four conditions merit survey endoscopy for malignancy?
- Barrett Esophagus
- Familial Polyposis or Gardner Syndrome
- Follow-up of Adenomatous Gastric Polyp
- Inadequately treated achalasia

Eliminates the bowel prep (no drinking incredibly strong laxatives to empty the GI tract the night before)
