Call Back
If an employee is called back after a regular shift or on a scheduled day off they shall be guaranteed a minimum of three hours pay at a rate of time and one-half the employees regular hourly rate.
Vacation Call Back
Any employee called back to duty once vacation has been approved and has incurred expenses shall be compensated at twice the hourly rate and shall be reimbursed for round trip transportation costs involved in returning to work.
Meal Times
One 30 min meal time and one 30 min rest break. One additional 15 min rest period for those working 12 hour shifts. Emergency conditions as determined by dept. head or designee will be considered as just cause to miss breaks and shall not be recoverable as overtime.
Standby
Employees ordered on standby time shall be guaranteed a minimum of 4 hours of pay at one-half their regular hourly rate.
Sick Leave Accumulation
Will accrue at 8 or 8 1/2 hrs per month depending on assigned schedule and shall continue to accumulate while on sick leave or vacation. Total accumulation shall not exceed 120 days.
Sick Leave Consideration
The employee must notify the Police Chief or officer in charge 1 hour prior to the beginning of shift.
Physicians Note
Employee must file a physicians certificate if an absence is more than three days or the employer has a reasonable basis for suspecting abuse. The physicians certificate must state whether or not the employee can perform the essential functions of their job and duration of leave or reasonable accommodations necessary for employee to perform essential functions.
Sick Leave Deductions
Deducted from accumulated sick leave of said employee at an hour for hour rate.
Disability Accrual
All LEOFF II employees shall accrue 8 hours of disability leave each month of employment, with the total accrual not to exceed 120 hours.
Funeral Leave Family Definition
Immediate family member or close relative shall mean only the employees husband, wife, son, daughter, mother, father, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandmother, grandfather, grandson, granddaughter, stepparents, stepsiblings, or step-children.
