When and what was the Truman doctrine ?
-1947
-Countries had a choice between communism and capitalism .
- communism was bad as it meant people werent free
- USA had to stop communism
- to do this they should provide troops and money to countries in danger of communist takeovers .

The marshall plan ?
-aimed to win over the countires effected by war by giving them 13 billion to 16 countires all over europe .
Soviet reactions to marshall plan ?
-They accused them of trying to be hitler and are trying to enslave weekend capitalist countries by blackmailing them .

- it made them look scary and confident dealing with the USA
- the west looked defencless and like liars to the rest of the world
