Narrow Channel Vessel passes to other vessel’s starboard sound….
long long short response: long short long short
Approaching bend?
1 long blast
definition overtaking (light degrees)
when direction 22.5 degrees abaft only see stern light and no sidelighs
in head on situation how do you alter?
both to starboard (so pass port to port)
when crossing who has right of way?
vessel that has other on her starboard side needs to move **weird so if you see a boat to your port side you’re actually cool! **
the give way vessel ironically turns to starboard in order to get it lined up and be like two way traffic (crossing port to port)
difference between underway and making way and
underway= not tied up making way= moving
pecking order (knowing that narrow channel, traffic separation and overtaking takes precedence)
not under command>restricted>constrained by draft (intl)>fishing+trawling>sailing>power>seaplane
if using radar you see vessel forward you do.. if you see vessel aside you (port or starboard) COMMON SENSE
for forward: turn starboard for abeam or abaft your port: turn starboard for abeam or abaft your starboard: turn port
