  • means the LV was to push harder to get the blood into the circulation - increased afterload
  • LVH
  • hypertension in upper body, poor perfusion to lower body

A

upper body hypertension
weak / absent pulse in femoral
rib notching bc IC arteries grow to bypass

A

BP difference - high in arms and low in legs
chest xray shows rib notching
echo / mri shows narrowing
