What are the nine work order tracking tabs listed in the work order module and what do they show?
Work order - The “HOME” Page for WOs, asset, job plan, and PM information is provided here along with WO type, status, any attached documents, some asset details, and various WO dates.
Plans - Displays the associated job plan - along with the labor craft, quantity, and estimated hours, if spare parts are associated to the Job plan they will be found here.
Assignments - Shows the laborers, planned labor hours, and scheduled dates as defined/scheduled in the assignment manager by the MPS
Related Records - Will show any other work orders associated to a current work order.
Actuals - Displays the job plan and where Technicians record the actual date and time spent on the WO activity.
Safety Plan -***** DOESNT NOT USE
Log - Where any user provides information that someone might use in the future about WO scope, actual activity information, MPS rescheduling information, etc.
Failure Reporting - Used to capture the problem/cause/remedycodes if the asset associate to the work order contains a failure class.

Where does the failure class on a work order come from?
Failure Class - If a failure class is assigned to an asset, the user can provide the Problem, Cause and Remedy codes upon changing the status to COMP.

What failure codes can be selected if the work order has an assigned failure class?

Lead Craft - Values used to assign a discipline or skill set responsible to perform the work.

Does the Crew ID represent a technicians labor shift?
No - The crew ID values used are to identify a larger group of resources.

What should work order labor hours include?
Labor hours should include total time to stage tools, preform repairs, travel time to/from asset, job clean up, and CMMS data entry.
Can you schedule a PM through a CM work order?
If other repairs/asset needs are identified during a PM that are outside the PM procedure, complete the PM scope and write a CM for the additional needs. It may be okay to repair at the time of the PM;
However, keep hours pure to the task and document labor hours associated with the PM and CM accordingly.
How manyy work order types does Maximo have?
There are 9 different work order types.
What does CM stand for and what is the definition?
CM - Corrective Maintenance : activity to correct a defect or failure in equipment outside scheduled maintenance activities.
What does PM stand for and what is the definition?
PM - Preventative Maintenance: Time or meter based maintenance performed at predetermined intervals. PM work orders are typically auto generated by the CMMS.

When would you use a TRG type work order?
TRG - Asset system training: Activity associated to asset or system technical training and certifications or vendor or engineering provided asset or system technical training.
Can you name three examples of Operations Activity’s (OPs work) type work orders?
Operations activity : Non-invasive activities required to keep facilities systems operational and in spec.
Examples: Manipulating valves/breakers, rotating equipment manually or via a control systems, rounds and readings, drum/tote changes, or backwashes
Can a project work type be used in place of corrective maintenance if the project manager is leading the project of the equipment repair?
NO. Project Work is not defined as corrective maintenance.
Project work is engineering requests outside normal maintenance on they system/asset and is tied to a modification, experiment, data gathering, system/asset update, etc.
What work order status is used when its decided that work shall not be preformed?
VOID - use VOID status to reflect work thats not preformed.
Does ***** use the CAN status?
No - Canceled status is not used
Does the closed and completed work order statuses mean the same thing?
Yes. The closed status is preformed once the completed work is archived via cron task workflow 90 days after the work order completion.
Predictive Maintenance is used to demine what? What is an example of a PD activity?
PD - Predictive Maintenance: Time based activated used to determine performance of equipment as it operate
It includes vibration analysis, infrared thermography, motor circuit analysis, power quality monitoring, ultrasound shock pulse method, etc.
What does it mean when a work order is in WMATL status?
WMATL = Waiting on Material
What should be listed in the work order description field?
Work order description = a user inputted field providing a brief description of the work to be preformed.
Is it required to list an asset on a work order? What information carries over to work order one you select an asset?
Yes, Asset = an asset is a required field. The asset assigned to the Work Order contains information used to categorize the asset attributes such as WBS, GL Account, Location, Priority, etc.
Which field on a Maximo work order do you have to use to search for an asset?
Unique ID - Asset (Otherwise known as the Asset Number)
If a work order is a CHILD what field would contain the parent information?
Parent WO - Displays the WO number of the parent WO if there is one. Indicating the WO is a child WO. When this field is blank the Work order in the work order field is a top level Work Order. To assign a work order to a parent, select Assign to Ner Parent from the Select Action menue

What determines the regulatory classification on a work order?
Regulatory classification comes from the job plan.
What will happen if a work order is created against an asset within warranty?
Warranty Expiration Date: Date on which the asset warranty is set to expire. Date assets in determining if asset repairs can be shipped to the asset vendor.
CMMS displays an alert when a work order or PO is created referencing an asset within warranty.
What should a work order description include?
Work order description - A user inputted field providing a brief description of the work to be preformed
The location on a work order is auto populated once what field is selected?
This is auto-populated when an asset is assigned to the Work Order in the asset field.
Location = A standard location code populates this field from the location table.
Which field will provide the name of the person who last touched the work order record?
Change By: Auto populated field displaying the labor name of the last person or CMMS to modify the Work Order.
When querying in Maximo for different work order types, which field should you use?
Work Type - Identifies the Work Order’s type
