CMMS MPS Role and Expectations Flashcards

1
Q

What is the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler Role?

A

The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler role is in support of the CS Asset
Management journey towards a World Class Maintenance organization.

This industry-standard role provides more efficient means of managing facilities maintenance and associated maintenance labor.

Planning and scheduling for all maintenance and operations activities will be conducted using current CMMS system applications and standardized business processes.

Q

Name 4 MPS BI indicators that aid in maintenance planning activities?

A

Key MPS indicators to aid in Planning activities are Maintenance Vitals, Utilization Dashboard (MPS Utilization Dashboard & JP Estimated vs. Actuals) Max Evaluation Tool, Back to the Future, Assignment Change History

Use standardized maintenance indicators to aide in work load adjustments and continually improve our teams asset maintenance program. These indicators are found in MyBI

Q

If an MPS receives a service request to create new data records (asset, pm, job plan, etc) does that MPS have access to do so in Maximo?

A

No MPS cannot create new data records in Maximo outside of work orders, They can only update data records; assets, pm job plan route etc.

i. conducts work on Maximo Service Request tickets routed to the MPS for which the MOS has CMMS permissions to complete.
ii. Routes any Maximo Service Request Tickets to CMMS Database Administrator for which the MPS does not have CMMS permissions to complete.

Q

When creating an AM (autonomous Maintenance) type work order, why would an MPS add a 2 hr labor line to the applicable job plan?

A

Where applicable add an additional 2 hour labor line to the appropriate Job Plan used on the daily Operations Technician PM. This additional labor line is intended for the backup Operations Technician who provides coverage during primary Operations Technician meals and breaks.

17
Q

Where should rescheduling and work order change information be recorded?

A

Use WO Log to document work order changes, rescheduling issues, etc.

18
Q

Who facilitates QMUMs and what are they used for?

A

Conduct QMUM (Quality Maintenance Update Meetings) with each syste engineer per the QMUM program. MOst importantly, provide quarterly data ahead of schedule and review data with the System Engineer. Log meeting details on the MPS Share Point Site QMUM log.

QMUM - Understand the process

19
Q

What is the minimum frequency that an MPS should run a 12 month PM look ahead?

A

At a minimum, on an annual basis, run and evaluate a 12 month PM look ahead schedule to effectively match required work in a given tie period to overall available labor hours and or location. Review with system engineer and commit changes to CMMS.

20
Q

Does an MPS have to review estimates vs. actuals data?

A

Yes, at a minnimum on an annual basis, update Job Plan estimated hours and duration fields based on Estimated Vs. Actual report data.

i. Reminder: If using a MAXE POR job plan, and you need to update the hob plan estimated labor hors/craft/tech quantity you must create site-specific job plan. Do not commit changes to MAXE POR unless applicable for all sites using that Job Plan.

21
Q

The PM Next Due Date and/or Extended date field should be no more than (blank) in advance?

A

Ensure PM Next Due Date or Extended Date field is populated with a date in the future no more than 2 weeks beyond the Last Start Date + PM Frequency (in days), This will ensure the PM generates a WO within the PM Frequency.

22
Q

What are the three PM queries you have to run each week and which day do you run them?

A

Run the following three Maximo Preventive Maintenance modules queries every Monday to check for any PM records that did not generate as expected. Reference the CS CMMS Preventive Maintenance Specification for details and how to troubleshoot records in these result sets.

i. PM Extended Date Not Generated
ii. PM Next date Not Generated
iii. PMs with no Next or Extended Date.

23
Q

What tools can an MPS use to ensure PM sequencing is accurate?

A

Ensure PM Sequencing data is accurate to reflect requested maintenance schedule. Use PM record View Sequence and the Maximo PM Look Ahead Report to check correct sequencing. Provide PM look ahead information to the

24
Q

Should PMs use the Maximo “forecasting” tool?

A

No. Ensure PM forecast does not exist on that PM record as this can cause PM generation to be other than what is expected.

25
Q

When evaluating maintenance greater than an annual what report and date parameters should the MPS run?

A

Run 2-5 year PM look ahead schedule in CMMS to evaluate PM schedule and associated Job Plan Accuracy and review with System Engineer for Maintenance program validation.

26
Q

What labor fields does the MPS need to update as needed?

A

Update Labor record shift, craft, and work site as necessary.

27
Q

Who is responsible supplying new and updated asset information?

A

Engineers own and are responsible for supplying new and updated information for asset, job plan, and PM records as well as conducting periodic reviews of maintenance records for their system(s).

28
Q

Who is responsible for reviewing all SR attached data prior to routing to the Admin for execution?

A

MPSs are responsible for reviewing General User Maximo Service Requests and attached validated iAMP files and completing request scope as applicable to the planner role application security permissions. The MPS routes Maximo Service Requests to the Gen Admin with scope for which the MPS does not have CMMS user role permissions to conduct.
