Clown Therapy (Senior Ciani Scene) Flashcards
Please come in. Mr. and Mrs….Bozo, correct?
It pronouced: Bozshosh. It’s French.
Bohcho.
Bohzshoh.
You didn’t tell me she’d be a woman.
You know I don’t like male doctors.
Am I supposed to feel more comfortable with a woman?
Woman are better listeners.
Yeah, according to you.
Would you please just sit down.
Thank you. Was that so hard?
Frank does it bother you that I’m a woman?
I’m sorry. You know how I feel about male doctors.
That’s because of your trust issues.
Oh , and whose fault is that? After living with you, does it shock you that I have trust issues? It’s surprising I ever leave the house after what you’ve put me through.
Here we go again.
See what I mean? See what I have to put up with?
Besides, she’s not really a doctor.
Close enough.
See.
What does that have to do with anything? At least she’s not pretending to be a doctor!
There’s no need to feel…awkward, or ashamed. Many couples seek therapy for their issues,
It’s just that…
Don’t look at me. You’re the one who wanted to come here.
Oh, so now you want to leave.
I didn’t say that. I said you’re the one that wanted to come here.
Then let’s just go. Let’s just forget. it.
See, we might as well stay.
Fine, we’ll stay. But don’t say I didn’t give you a choice.
I don’t mean to be presumptuous here, but I think I’ve seen this situation before.
See, I told you she could help us.
Four years.
Four and a half.
Mrs. Bohzshosh, when did you discover that your husband-
Maggie. Call me Maggie.
Your husband is…a clown?
Sorry?
one had been moonlightin as a rodeo clown and-
I’ve always known.
Come again?
I said, I’ve always lmpwm.
Of course she knew.
How could I not. That’s how we met. Remember.
You were pilling out of the trunk of that compact car. There were nineteen other clowns with you, but for me, there was just one. Those other clowns, they might as well not have even existed. They could go on honking their horns and somersaulting around that ring, but it didn’t matter. They were nothing to me. You were the clown that I was watching. The only clown. I couldn’t keep my eyes off of you. I remember it like it was yesterday. That red nose, that bright blue hair.
I knew at that moment, he was the clown for me.
You knew he was a clown?
It was love at first sight. And then, every time we met, he would make me fall in love him just a little bit more. That water squirting flower on his lapel. The way he would start juggling random objects- and inevitably drop them all- just to have them bounce right back up in the air. And the way every time he tried to tie his tie, it would grow longer and longer until he was totally wrapped up in it. That’s the man I fell in love with. That’s the man I thought I knew.
I guess I’m a little confused then.
He’s a fraud.
I’m not a fraud.
Yes you are. You lied to me.
