yes, adding modelling wax or silicone putty to extend into the flanges

What do you do to the primary impressions to send to lab?
disinfect and mark on the impressions the borders you want the custom trays to be constructed to
What information should you send to the lab when you send you primary impressions off?
select teeth shade
mould
gather any info that may be of use to the technician e.g. age, gender, race, midline diastema, tooth spacing etc
good to know for teeth setup
ABD complete a student clinic labratory prescription card
What do you do if stable occlusion cannot be found using hand articulation?
request for wax occlusal rims on light cured acrylic base
What to write on the student clinic laboratory prescription card after primary impressions?
When would you use RCP to record jaw relationship?
e.g. tooth wear case
If ICP is used for recording jaw relationship, where will the correct OVD lie?
intercuspation of the retained teeth
After designing, preparing teeth and taking secondary impressions, what should you include in your student clinic laboratory prescription card?
When you have the frame-work without teeth, what should you check?
confirm design has been executed in detail - cross-checking your design drawings
check the stability of the framework on the cast - check seating of all rests
check occlusion on the articulator - ensure occlusal rest-cast assemblies are not interfering
check position of the clasps and the reciprocal arms in relation to the height of contour of involved teeth
check for clearance of soft tissues in saddle areas and presence of tissue stops in case of distal extension bases
check path of insertion and removal
What thickness should it be at the junction of occlusal rest with minor connector?
1.5-2mm
Do you request for was blocks on frame prior to frame-work try in?
no

If you change the position and/or shape of teeth chair-side do you have to retake bite registration?
yes, if necessary
When is a diagnostic wax try-in needed?
a wax try in with fake teeth for more aesthetic purposes
shade, shape occlusion etc
needed where lack of occlusal space or deep excursive movements mean areas of the casting need extended backings/biting platforms to hold only facings of artificial teeth
