what to observe from moment you see patient/guest in lobby – with SOFT-EYE palpation
soft-eye = clothes are fine, no palpation needed
from moment you see guest –
– posture
– gait
– how do they carry themself?
– how do they move?
– condition of their clothes?
– hygiene? (poor hygiene may indicate pathological barriers to hygienic practises)
– the wear pattern of their shoes? (inverted vs everted gait)
etc.
hard eye palpation?
involves removing clothes (keeping shorts and sports bra for females)
using landmarks as guidelines
palpating around landmarks and joints to feel for misalignments
DTR, dermatome, myotome assesses ____

higher than 139/89 BP = MASSAGE IS CONTRAINDICATED, unless patient has note from Physician permitting receiving massage
