Plant majority of vegetables in fall because most will die from heat if planted to late. Winters average 40 degrees with up to 15 frosts per year
What are some important things to remember in the summer for zone 13?
Summer storms will cool gardens, shield plants from the sun, and supply a little extra water.
What effect does latitude have on your garden?
High latitudes means longer daylight in summer and length of night in the winter
What affect does elevation have on gardens?
Greater elevation results in longer colder winters and lower night temperatures
How can you treat a north or west facing wall in Phoenix?
Plant trees to shade wall or screen them with a heat loving vine to reduce heat.
Where in your garden can you put a plant that enjoys sunlight but not heat?
Near an east wall or under a shade tree
