Q
What were the Paris agreement settlements?
A
To limit global warming: restrict increasing temperatures till 1.5 degrees
Each country must submit plans, known as NDCs (Nationally Determined Contributions), outlining their climate actions to reduce emissions. These plans are updated every five years to increase ambition.
Developed countries are expected to provide financial support to developing nations
A framework for measuring and reporting progress ensures transparency, allowing countries to track their performance against their commitments.
The agreement aims to achieve global carbon neutrality (net-zero emissions) by the second half of the 21st century.
