Maximum - minimum temperature

A

Consist of u shape capillary tube with two separate temperature reading
In the u shape capillary is mercury, which is pushed around by expansion
As the mercury moves, it pushes the 2 small steel marks in the tube and they record the furthest point reached by mercury
When temperature reverses, the marks remain in the tube at the furthest point they have been pushed to
At any given time, both thermometers should record the same temperature

A

Measure rainfall - mm
Place on grass because if on concrete, water can be splash into them
Check regularly - each day - to avoid evaporation
He rain goes into the funnel and then into the container
Then is measured with measuring cylinder
