• Some part of cliffs are more vunerable to erosion than others.
• Some type of rock is more resistant to erosion and therefore takes longer to collapse

• 1. At wave cut platforms, weather weakens the top of the cliff.
• 2. The sea then attacks the base of the cliff forming a wave cut notch
• 3. The notch then increases in size causing the cliff to collapse
