1. Wash hands (with a brush)
2. Set up clean field
3. Arrange clothing and equipment appropriately
4. Wash hands (with brush)
5. Swab point (w/70% ethyl alcohol); in one direction only or in an outward spiral; let alcohol dry
6. Needle point (placing garbage directly in the receptacle); Keep hands clean
7. Wait during treatment (keep hands clean)
8. With cotton at the ready pull needle’ put directly into sharps container without crossing the clean field
9. Wash hands (with brush)
